Changefied launches groundbreaking VR experience 'Dutch Virtual Public Transport' on Meta Store

Changefied BV
Virtual Public transport

Dutch Virtual Public Transport, an innovative spin-off from the successful Virtual Public Transport learning platform, proudly announces the launch of its new virtual reality experience on the Meta Store. This groundbreaking application, developed in collaboration with Dutch transport organizations, is designed to familiarize international visitors with Dutch public transport, while also supporting neurodivergent people in becoming self-sufficient on public transport.

Revolutionary public transport training for tourists and business travelers

Dutch Virtual Public Transport offers users an immersive and interactive experience to familiarize themselves with the Dutch public transport system before their visit to the Netherlands. This technically advanced VR simulation allows users to practice in a safe, virtual environment:

● Journey planning : Learn to plan your journeys efficiently with the latest digital tools.
Checking in and out : Practice using payment systems.
Navigating stations : Get familiar with the layout of stations and how to find the right platforms.
Transfers: Learn to transfer smoothly between different modes of transport.

Unique combination of learning, doing and discovering

As a reward for completing the public transport training, users receive access to an authentic virtual Old Dutch windmill park. This unique combination of education and virtual tourism makes the experience not only educational but also entertaining, contributing to a positive first impression of the Netherlands for international visitors.

Inclusive design and impact on tourism

Although Dutch Virtual Public Transport was developed for international visitors, the application is based on the inclusive design of the original Virtual OV learning platform. This platform, developed in collaboration with Dutch healthcare institutions, helps neurodivergent people become self-reliant on public transport. The training is accessible to a wide audience and offers a structured, low-stimulation learning environment in which users gradually learn to travel independently.

"With this VR experience, we want to prepare visitors to the Netherlands for using Dutch public transport, so they can travel with confidence once they arrive," explains Tim van Dam, CEO of Changefied. "We expect this to have a positive impact on tourism and the overall travel experience in the Netherlands."

Availability

Dutch Virtual Public Transport is now available as a free download from the Meta Store, compatible with Meta Quest 3 and 3S headsets. This launch marks a significant step in the use of VR technology for practical, everyday applications and underscores the Netherlands' position as an innovator in digital mobility solutions.
