Van leerlingenvervoer naar zelfstandig reizen
Help neurodivergente jongeren in het speciaal onderwijs en praktijkonderwijs om veilig en stapsgewijs zelfstandig te leren reizen.
Voor veel neurodivergente jongeren is de overstap van leerlingenvervoer naar het openbaar vervoer groot. Zonder een veilige manier om te oefenen, blijven zij soms langer afhankelijk van aangepast vervoer dan nodig is.
Virtual OV is een Virtual Reality-leeromgeving waarin jongeren realistische OV-situaties veilig en herhaald oefenen. Ze leren routes plannen, zelfstandig keuzes maken en omgaan met situaties die onderweg kunnen ontstaan.
Docenten en begeleiders ondersteunen het leerproces en helpen jongeren om de stap van oefenen in VR naar zelfstandig reizen in de praktijk te maken. Zo vergroot Virtual OV de zelfredzaamheid van jongeren en kan het gemeenten helpen om meer grip te krijgen op de kosten van leerlingenvervoer.
Virtual OV wordt inmiddels in drie regio’s en één provincie ingezet binnen het speciaal onderwijs en praktijkonderwijs.
