Independent travel remains a hurdle — Virtual
Public Transport
lowers that barrier.
Your special education pupils, neurodivergent clients, MBO students, or elderly people want to participate in society. But public transport crowds, unpredictability, and fear form a barrier. Virtual OV offers safe VR training: realistic scenarios where they buy tickets, transfer, and manage chaos—step by step, at their level.
From tension to natural – ready for the real world.
Neurodivergent VR Training: Independence and Self-Confidence
Your neurodivergent students or clients become overwhelmed in real public transport by crowds and stimuli. Virtual Public Transport offers a low-stimulus VR environment where they build travel skills — without stress, at their own pace.
With every session, you strengthen their:
- Executive functions : Time management (transfer times), maintaining attention (reading the route), planning (buying a ticket)
- Procedural memory : Automatic check-in, hold ticket, exit door — ingrained through repetition
- Self-confidence : From "never alone" to "first ride with your close guidance"
Result: guided steps to the real world.
Easy implementation, powerful results
Our plug-and-play public transport training only requires a VR headset and the accompanying software. Our train-the-trainer program teaches caregivers how to optimally support clients using Virtual Public Transport.

Learning to travel on public transport
- Use a travel planner app or website to plan your route.
- Check in advance which bus or train you need to take, at what time and where you need to transfer.
- Identify important details such as line numbers, departure times, and stops.
Select the correct bus or train
- Check the information boards at the stop or station to see if your bus or train is arriving.
- Please pay close attention to the line number, the final destination and any changes in the route or departure time.
- Use your working memory to remember which stop to get off or change at.
Dealing with unexpected situations such as delays
- Stay calm if your travel time changes or a train is delayed. Check alternatives in the app or on the board.
- Be flexible: sometimes you have to take a different route or wait a while.
- Try to think of solutions, such as taking a different connection or asking public transport employees for help.
Social interactions
- Politeness to fellow travelers and public transport personnel.
- If you are unsure about your connection, ask drivers, conductors, or an information desk for assistance.
