Welcome to Virtual Public Transport for special education in North Holland
Virtual OV is an innovative virtual reality learning platform that helps students in special education travel independently and confidently on public transport. With Virtual OV, students can practice everything they need to know to travel independently in a safe environment and at their own pace: from planning a trip and checking in and out with a bank card, to transferring and identifying the correct platform or mode of transport.
For the province of North Holland, we are rolling out Virtual OV free of charge to all secondary special education schools (VSO) in the regions
North Holland North, Haarlem-IJmond and Gooi and Vechtstreek.
Available for the following municipality:
The project
Schools in the regions of
North Holland North, Haarlem-IJmond, and Gooi en Vechtstreek
can use a Virtual Public Transport set for 14 or 20 weeks per school year, depending on the size of the school and the number of students participating. This allows schools to allow students to practice in realistic traffic situations in a safe and innovative way, without the stressful stimuli of real-life travel.
The school year program
